Winter Break Ideas for the Family

So, I was super excited about starting up my blog. Got everything going and started sharing. Then, I got a case of "cold feet"! Still trying to figure out how this all works. In fact, it can be quite overwhelming. Today I have decided that I need to suck it up and just BLOG!

This has been a busy week for us. We're gearing up for our winter break. We get two weeks off from school, and I'm beginning to think two weeks is too long! My kids get bored being stuck at home without a regular routine. I'm going be making a daily planner packed full of stuff for us to do. Here's some of the things that I have planned for the next couple weeks.

Thursday nights at Riverfront Park's  Ice Palace is $1 skate from 7pm-8:30pm. Remember to bring helmets for the little ones (or people like me that can't ice skate!).

December 19th-30th is open skate from 1:00-5:00 at Pattison's North , and they also have a BYGO on Wednesday the 21st and the 28th. They have a great calendar full of events over break! Events Calendar

Mobius Kids is a great place to explore indoors! Admission is reasonable at $5.75 with kids 12 months and under free.

The Garland Theater has $1 movies on Wednesdays! And they're doing "Totally Tubular Tuesdays", where every Tuesday at 7 o'clock they will be showing an old favorite for just one dollar. You can vote on their website for which favorites you'd like to see!

There is also  FREE horse drawn carriage rides downtown  11/25-12/24. Fridays, 3-8:00 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 12-5:00 p.m.  Christmas Eve 12-3:00 p.m. Pick-up on Wall Street at Main Avenue. No reservations necessary. First come first serve basis. Sponsored by STCU.

Super Simple Secret Santa For Under $20!

So next week starts our "Secret Santa" gift exchange at work! I was able to put together three simple gifts for my person for under $20!! I was super excited about what I was able to put together, and thought I'd share it with you.
First off, we were given a $20 limit. Now, we could spread that out in multiple gifts, or just for one item, but no more than $20. We reveal who we are to our Secret Santa recipient on the 15th, next Thursday. We were also given a list of what that person has interests in, like favorite color, favorite hobby, favorite candy, etc. I ended up spending roughly $15 dollars on mine! Thinking about getting a $5 Starbucks gift card to throw in too.

So first, here are the bags that I got....
They were $1 a piece at Wal-Mart. I love the colorful tinsel stuff for gift bags! I got those for $1 each at the dollar store.  Now for the gifts...

I got a stocking at Wal-Mart for under $5, to stuff full of my recipients favorite candies. She likes milk chocolate as you can tell. The candies were about $2 a bag at Wal-Mart. In the large gift bag, I'm stuffing it with the holiday mug I got at the dollar store, and the cute little snowman note pad I got at .Wal-Mart for $1. I was also going to dump in a bag of kisses with the red and green wrapping too, just to stay festive.
In the little penguin gift bag, I'm going to put the BEAUTIFUL blue snowflake glitter ornaments (It's hard not to keep them for myself). There are 20 in the package, which I also got at Wal-Mart, for $2.97.

Really can't wait until next week, so I can BE the Secret Santa! Things like this are fun to be involved in at work, and it can help you get to know fellow co-workers, that you might not have known so well before!

HAPPY HOLIDAY!

My first blog :o)

Hey there! My name is Alisha. I'm a first time blogger and I'm excited about sharing my crazy life, of being a Mom of three boys, and a homemaker, with you!
In my blog, I'll be talking about all kinds of things. About products I love, recipes, places I like to shop and where I find great deals, and just things in general about my life, and what its like raising three boys.
Speaking of my three boys (five if you include the cat and the husband) they're 11, 5, and 3 years old. They keep me pretty busy with school, friends, laundry, and all things of that nature! I love to stay as involved in my kids lives as much as possible. They mean the world to me. Even when they do, and they DO, drive me crazy.

I look forward to the day when we can get a dog! I told "the man" the dog has to be a girl! I love all my boys, but I really need another female in the house! We love our kitty, Conan. He's a big fat orange tabby cat and he loves to snuggle!

I've recently found a new love for zumba! It is so much fun. I have two left feet so anything involving coordination, is difficult for me, but if I keep at it, it'll become much easier. The cardio workout is amazing and I love getting together with a group of people, learning something new. Plus, it's good for you! Just moving around and getting exercise is great, even if you do look goofy doing it!  I've found that any of the workouts that involve belly dancing are A LOT of fun. The movements are beautiful. Can't wait for our next class.

Well, for now, I'm all out of things to say. I'll be back soon with whatever is on my mind! Can't wait to blog away my life and see what kinds of other bloggers I can connect with!
